We are a full-service public accounting firm in that we offer services in the areas of auditing and accounting. We serve dozens of audit clients in both the public and non-profit sectors. It is our philosophy to be unique by providing the in-depth industry experience our clients expect; and, at the same time, retain the personal service and responsiveness that has contributed to our growth.
Our Story
Telling & Hillman, P.C. is a small regional public accounting firm located in the Champlain Valley. Our company is a dynamic team of professionals who take a personal interest in our clients’ financial needs. Our objective is to produce work that is of the highest quality. We are a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Government Audit Quality Center (GAQC) of the AICPA.
Our clients include corporations, school districts, municipalities, individuals, and non-profit organizations. We provide a full range of services: audited financial statements, and reviewed financial statements.
Our Team
Thomas Telling; CPA
Managing Partner
Tom is a graduate of the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana. He began his career in Bloomington Illinois. Tom maintains his CPA license in New York and Vermont. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and is a registered peer reviewer. Tom has practiced public accounting for over forty years. Tom’s experience includes audits of non-profit organizations, school districts, and municipalities. He is a past president of
the Middlebury Rotary Club.
Samantha Hillman; CPA
Engagement Partner and System Quality Management Director
Samantha is a licensed CPA in New York and Vermont. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, from Castleton University. With over seventeen years of audit experience, she is well versed in auditing municipalities, school districts, and a wide variety of non-profit organizations.
Gordon Telling; CPA
Engagement Partner
Gordon is a licensed CPA in New York and Vermont. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. He is a results-oriented Accountant with specialized expertise in financial statement auditing, primarily serving local governments and non-profit organizations. His background is anchored in a comprehensive understanding of audit, accounting, and tax principles.
Phillip Turner
In Charge Accountant
Phillip is a graduate of Norwich University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. His audit experience includes non-profit organizations, municipalities, and school districts.
Kyle Lussier
In Charge Accountant
Kyle is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. His audit experience includes non-profit organizations, municipalities, and school districts.
Heidi Franz-Tremblay
Administrative Assistant
Heidi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and French from
Whitworth University. Heidi joined our firm as a second career. Her first career was in
Retail and Merchandise Management for a Fortune 500 Company.
Peter Landing
Staff Accountant
Peter Landing holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a
concentration in Entrepreneurship. He is currently building his professional experience assisting in auditing tasks at Telling and Hillman P.C. as well as pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
